Nicholas turned 6.

I can't believe my boy is 6 now. Here are some great pictures of his celebrations.

We had grandma's on the Saturday before his birthday. Then on his birthday we dropped Abby off with a friend and Jon and I took him out. We wen bowling, to Toys RUs to pick his presents, and then lunch and ice cream at Leatherby's.

The kid chose, out of everything in the toy store, a set of rocks, a solar system model, and an Iron Man car. Silly kid. I thought he'd want Legos.

Happ birthday Nicholas!

Santa Barbara trip part one.

We went to Santa Barbara for vacation. We decided to stop at the Tech Museum in San Jose first. We had so much fun there. Nicholas got to work in a real wet lab with real jellyfish DNA, Abby got to play with light and color. They both lived all the stuff there. Here are some fabulous pictures.
Nicholas and his dad used actual science lab instruments to combine jellyfish DNA with bacteria to make it glow green. He had so much fun.
Abby really liked the changeable lights. They changed colors and she could pull them off the wall and make different japes with them.
Nicholas and Jon made a robot.
The kids and I made music on synthesizers. And used lasers and all kinds of fun stuf to learn about sound.
Abby or to color
On computers.

And then we packed up to finish the drive down to Santa Barbara. Which was fine. Until they got hungry. Then it wasn't such a good drive anymore. So we stopped and are. But that wasn't good enough. They jut wanted to be done drivin. Well, so did we.

But we eventually made it and enjoyed our time there.

Santa Barbara part two.

So we went to Santa Barbara. And hung out at the beach and hiked. We stayed in a friends house on the mountains facing the ocean. We could see the ocean and great sunrises and sunsets. We could go on hikes right from the house (and did). We even found a great tree swing behind the house in the woods.

So I'm just adding pictures. See the fun we had!
