It has been almost a month since this blog was last updated. I apologize to all those who were waiting for it, but there have been turbulant times in the Wunderlich family.
Shutterfly is finally updated. And they added a new feature which lets you download the pictures rather than having to buy them from their store. So you can download them and then print them, or create online collages, whatever. www.nicholaswunderlich.shutterfly.com
I had wrist surgery, and am typing this post with just my left hand. I am not supposed to type with my right hand until the stiches are removed on Thursday. It was not a bad surgery. I was told it was gonig to be 20 minutes, max, however I was taken into the room at 10:20, and didn't get out until almost noon. Which means something wasn't as easy as it was suppsoed to be. I asked, and they told me that the growth was bigger than expected and that they had to move around tendons and nerves to get it all out. Lovely. Let me tell you, when they first told me i was going to be awake but sedated, I was annoyed. I didn't want to feel or remember anything. But they gave me a very nice cocktail, and I think I slept through most of the surgery. They also didn't use enough local anesthetic at the start, and I could feel things, so they put more in. But that's about all I remember. Oh yeah - and the guy who started my IV did the best job I have ever had, and I have had a lot of IVs.
So now I am trying to recover. Nicholas is being a sort of pain at the moment. He cannot stay with me, because I cannot lift him or change his diaper on my own. So he's staying all day with Ana (daycare) and he's letting me and his father know he doesn't like it. If you think kids don't understand, oh my, they certainly do. But he's too young to understand that mommy is hurt. Which is sad. He thinks that the bandage on my hand is a great target for throwing things, or hitting. Which really hurst. Hopefully we have broken him of that for a little while.
Jon is doing work, just like normal. he's really a trooper. He's been taking care of Nicholas. He had almost exclusive care of Nicholas for the first week after my surgery. Now I am helping a little, but he's still a trooper.
School is almost over for me. I have one final (tonight) and an essay due before Wednesday. I will do it tomorrow I think. Then I am done with this semester and have a few months before Fall semester starts. So that is a good thing.
I am looking forward to June. My editor has four of my writing things in her inbox, and hasn't approved them yet. So i am hoping she does it before June 10th so I can get paid in June. She was supposed to approve them for this month, but she didn't. Oh well. It is nothing I can control.
Annie moved to Utah. She was easily one of my best friends here. We used to do all kinds of things. She's fabulous. But her husband got into BYU to finish his history degree, so they moved. Sad, but necessary for them. I will miss her, and Chris (her husband). They were great company.
We aren't moving anytime soon. Which is kind of nice. When we do move, it is going to be a pain packing everything. Can you imagine packing a whole house, and having a child too?! I know what a pain it was packing me and Jon up to move into this house, I cannot imagine doing it with Nicholas too.
On the Nicholas front - he's running and hugging and talking and kissing. He likes to kiss Zoe, his girlfriend at daycare. I walked in and saw the two of them kissing in the corner! He's not even two, and already he's a ladies man. Great. He also got Oreos from my mom :( We were keeping him away from Oreos and sweets (except for fruit). But now he knows if he goes there he gets Oreos. Food is a good bribing tool for Nicholas. He always reacts well to food.
